Selling Your eBooks on XinXii — Full Guide
Last updated – July/2026
XinXii is a Berlin-based self-publishing and distribution platform that lets independent authors sell eBooks and audiobooks directly through their own XinXii author page, with optional distribution to major retailers like Amazon, Kobo, Apple Books, and Casa del Libro.
Setting up an account and uploading a book is straightforward, but it’s worth knowing exactly what you’ll need and what you’ll earn before you start.
What You’ll Need to Upload a Book
- Your book in EPUB format
- Your book in MOBI format (for legacy distribution — see our MOBI guide if you need this converted)
- Your book in PDF format
- A Table of Contents document
- An excerpt document
- A book cover
- Keywords
- A blurb
- A price
Having all three file formats ready before you start the upload saves a lot of back-and-forth — this is exactly the kind of multi-format prep TrioMarketers handles for authors in one pass.
Getting Paid
- XinXii pays out once your account balance exceeds EUR 20.00 and you submit a payment request.
- Payment is issued at the end of the month following your request.
- Payouts are made via PayPal or bank transfer.
Commission Rates
XinXii lets you set your own price, which in turn determines your commission rate on direct sales through your XinXii author page:
-
70% of net sales for eBooks priced above roughly EUR 2.94 (or the USD/GBP equivalent)
-
40% of net sales for eBooks priced between roughly EUR 0.99 and EUR 1.98 (or the USD/GBP equivalent)
For sales made through XinXii’s distribution partners (Amazon, Kobo, Apple Books, etc.), XinXii passes on up to 85% of what it receives from those retailers.
Note: Commission thresholds and percentages are set by XinXii and can change — always confirm current rates on XinXii’s site before pricing your book, since the figures above may shift over time.
Publishing Costs
Listing and selling through your XinXii author page is free, with no upfront fees, no hosting charges, and no exclusivity requirements — you can pull your book down at any time. Distribution to external retailers is handled through the same free account; check your XinXii dashboard for the current terms on distribution partner fees, since these vary by title type (fiction vs. non-fiction vs. audiobook) and have changed over time.
Is XinXii Worth Adding to Your Publishing Mix?
XinXii is strongest as a secondary sales channel — it’s genuinely free, gives you a direct author storefront, and its distribution network extends your reach into European retailers some authors overlook.
It won’t replace Amazon KDP as your primary channel, but for authors already selling on Smashwords, Draft2Digital, or direct from their own site, XinXii is a low-effort way to pick up incremental sales with essentially no downside.
Get All Three File Formats Ready in One Go
XinXii requires your book in EPUB, MOBI, and PDF before you can publish — TrioMarketers formats all three from a single manuscript, hand-coded and accessibility-compliant, so your files are upload-ready across every platform, not just XinXii.
Our expert ebook formatting service prepares all three required file formats from a single manuscript.
